Apologies

Hello Everyone!

Yes, we are alive.
No, we haven't fallen into the pit of despair or been put in prison.
Yes, we are loving our new apartment.
No, we aren't pregnant.
Yes, we're both still employed at Property Solutions.
No, Michael technically hasn't graduated yet, but he walked in August and is finishing his last 3 classes and will be done in December (YAY!!!).

So what has kept me away from the blogosphere? In a word, life.

I last posted in April after we got our kitten, Tony. He's a ball full of energy and is not so little anymore, but more on him later.

Moving and Work have been our main concerns all summer. We transferred apartments in Provo going from near DI to up by the Provo Temple. We were fortunate enough to be put in touch with a Great-Aunt and Uncle of Michael's who own a house up there and have been renting the basement out to grandchildren and other relatives. Well, I guess we're the closest kin that needed it now, and we are so very grateful to Charles and Eileen Lewis for their hospitality. I never had a chance to really post pictures of our first apartment as a married couple, so hopefully once we get everything set, I can post some pictures of our new place.

Michael got a promotion earlier this year and moved up from the support team at Property Solutions, to the product specialist team. It came with a raise and transition from hourly to salaried which was very welcome. We're being forced to be adults.... aaaaah. Jk... sort of. But seriously, we are so blessed to have such wonderful jobs. I am the executive assistant to the CEO as well as the office manager of the development office. My boss decided a couple months ago to attempt to break the world record for the largest dodgeball game in history. At the time, the record sat at 2,136 so to hedge our bets, we set incentives like free hot dogs and t-shirts, at 2,500. In total, we had about 6 weeks to plan and carry out the event. I was responsible for coordinating the billboard contracts, payment and installation (we had 4); the contract and payment process for the venue, staging, sound and blow up screen for the outdoor movie, not to mention coordinating a ton of the volunteer efforts prior to, and at the actual event. There was more, but that's all I have energy to list right now.

So, there you go.

In other news, it finally snowed a few days ago! Tuesday of this week, it started raining, and to be honest, I was thrilled to be reminded of Oregon weather. And Russia as well. The grey skies just bring back great memories, what can I say?! But at night, when it's dark and cold, that's when I get the gloomies. Night in the winter is only good when you can see the moonlight glinting off all the bazillions of snowflakes. So Wednesday morning when it was snowing as I left for work, I got pretty excited. Fall/Winter fashion is ideal for people like me who much more enjoy layering our pasty white, freckled skin with boots, scarves, coats and gloves than slinking around in the summer tanning. Because we don't tan. We burn. Thus, winter is better.

However, I will be attempting to not completely let go of the slight tint I may have acquired this summer (solely on my arms) since we will be going on a cruise in January. We decided to take our one year anniversary trip, at our 1.5 year mark since rates are the lowest. We will be going on a 7 day Mexican Rivera Cruise and I will be sure to blog about it! We have gotten most of our cruise knowledge from other cruise reviews and blog posts, so we will return the favor of course. In the meantime, if any of you have been on the Carnival Splendor, please comment with any tips or suggestions! Only 3 months to Paradise!!!
